sir_umm and I met in 1999 and married in 2003. We are polyamorous (http://www.xeromag.com/fvpoly.html for more information on that). Our daughter, who was born in 2003, is the light and joy of our lives. I participate in Renaissance faires, science fiction and fantasy conventions and have a wide and fascinating circle of friends from all over the country. Spiritually, I am an eclectic solitary pagan. I pride myself on being something of a domestic diva but June Cleaver, I ain’t. I am also engaged in actively trying to sort out some physical and mental health challenges through various traditional and non-traditional methods. I am also a *huge* fan of Enter the Haggis, a Celtic fusion band from Toronto, Ontario (http://www.enterthehaggis.com) as well as many other Celtic bands. I am a proud hippie and a DeadHead and always will be. I am passionate about the birth process and am active in lobbying for midwives and mother’s rights. I am also passionate about social justice and peace advocacy and do what I can to further those causes.

Ceann Cait means "long-eared owl" in Irish Gaelic. It is pronounced KYahn ket. Ceann cait also means "cat faced" or "cat headed" which makes sense if you look at pictures of the long-eared owl.

Information and thoughts on natural, midwife-assisted childbirth. Discussions of weight, healthy foods, exercise and the Weight Watchers program. A good bit of this journal, at least at first, will be devoted to posts chronicling my pursuit of answers regarding my health.

Anyone who is interested in the above topics and willing to comment honestly and intelligently. Healthy debate is always welcome. Lightheartedness, tolerance and open-mindedness are always appreciated. NOTE: If I do not know you in real life, I am unlikely to friend you here. I’m truly sorry about that but I have a lot of real life friends I need to keep up with and limited time.
